State Rep. Vincent Gregory Walks A Day In Our Shoes
Thanks to Rosie Nix at Medilodge of Southfield, State Representative Vincent Gregory is getting pretty good at folding towels. As part of the endorsement process at SEIU Healthcare Michigan, candidates do a Walk-A-Day, where they spend half of a day working side-by-side with a member of our union. This gives the candidates more insight on all the hard work that goes into being healthcare worker.
Representative Gregory folded towels, hauled carts, and hung laundry while getting to know SEIU members who live in Senate District 14 (Southfield, Southfield Township, Lathrup Village, Farmington, Farmington Hills, Huntington Woods, Ferndale, Oak Park, Hazel Park, Pleasant Ridge, and Royal Oak Township).
He is running against County Commissioner David Coulter, who did a Walk-A-Day with members of Local 1. Both candidates participated in a recent Meet & Greet event to speak to members and answer questions about their positions on healthcare and other issues that impact the lives of working families. Check out pictures of the event here and check back to find out which candidate wins the endorsement of our members!
